You have many choices today about how and where you will spend your time, and we want to thank you for choosing to visit First Reformed Church, either through our website or in person.
We are a Biblically rooted congregation in a constant state of transition as we seek to be the church Christ wants us to be. As a member of the Alliance of Reformed Churches, we cherish our long heritage while we seek to be relevant in the ways we proclaim the truths of Scripture and share the love of God. We hope and trust that you have been blessed by visiting us, just as we have been blessed by your presence, and invite you to make First Reformed Church your church home. If there is anything we as a church can do for you or if you have any questions at all, please let us know.
Our Mission: We are people of God affiliated with the Alliance of Reformed Churches. We believe the Holy Bible to be the infallible Word of God. We are called to reach out, witness and win people to Christ.
First Reformed exists to love the Lord our God and to love the people He has created.
Each program undertaken, each decision evaluated, each personal contribution made must be understood in the light of how it expresses our love for God and others.
Our Goal: To bring the uncommitted to Jesus Christ and to see our congregation grow spiritually and in numbers.
Our Prayer: That the entire congregation will become involved with some part of the mission of this church.
Becoming a Christian is not the end of a process but the beginning of an exciting journey with God. To begin this journey you need to:
-- Recognize that we were created by God for fellowship with Him.
-- Understand that God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life.
-- Acknowledge that you are sinful and separated from God.
Recognize that Jesus Christ is God's only provision for man's sin. Believe in Jesus and receive Him through personal invitation.
To help you begin this incredible journey, you may find this sample prayer as a good starting point.
"Dear God, I know that you made me, that you love me and that you want the very best for me. I confess to you that I have sinned or done things that are wrong. Please forgive me. I believe that you, Jesus, died on the cross for me. I want to trust in you and I ask that you come into my life and help me live differently from now on. I love you. Thank you. Amen."
If you have just begun this incredible journey, or have questions about it, it is our desire to help you discover the joy of living with Jesus, like Jesus, and for Jesus. Please feel free to contact Pastor Brad, either in person after a service, or through the Staff/Contact Us pages.
While membership is not required to participate in the life and fellowship of First Reformed Church, we do recognize that it is in membership that we fulfill what Paul spoke about in Ephesians when he tells us to "submit to one another." Membership in a local congregation provides for wonderful fellowship and Biblical accountability.
There are three ways to become a member at First Reformed Church:
We periodically have membership classes, called "Get to Know First Reformed," which explains more about who we are as a church and what it means to be a member. These four-week classes are held in the Fall and in Spring. Please contact the church office for more information.
